Andrew Weatherill, Secondary School Counseling Consultant for the Bureau of Exceptional Education and Student Services, will provide updates from Tallahassee about college and career initiatives as well as projects underway at the Department of Education. Rebecca Schumacher, Executive Director of the Florida School Counselor Association (FSCA), will describe current and upcoming advocacy and legislative efforts of the Association that supports school counselors and impact students. The session is open to all.
Andrew Weatherill is currently the Secondary School Counseling Consultant at the Student Support Services Project/ USF, in the Bureau of Exceptional Education and Student Services and Florida Department of Education. Previously he was Supervisor of School Counseling, Pinellas County Schools.
Rebecca A. Schumacher serves as the Executive Director of the Florida School Counselor Association. She has been worked in public schools as a teacher, school counselor, district level administrator, and recently in higher education to prepare school counselors.
