One of the biggest barriers to education beyond high school is affordability. While we promote the FAFSA for students to be aware of their eligibility for federal financial aid, some families are still wary of how they will cover the remaining costs of attending college.
For this affinity call, LaVerne Handfield, FCAN’s Statewide Initiatives Programs Coordinator, will be joined by Shedly Casseus, BRACE Advisor at Northeast High School in Broward county, who will extend on her Feature Friday! which highlighted her project, The Scholarship Plug. Shedly will discuss what inspired her project; how she utilizes different platforms to connect to students; and how she engages students, families and the community around finding money for college.
