FSCA Graduate Student Liaison

FSCA is accepting applications for a Board Graduate Student Liaison

A Graduate Student Liaison, is an appointed, non-voting participant on the Board of Directors to develop communication with and represent all graduate school counseling students across the state. The graduate student(s) in this position work collaboratively with the Vice President Postsecondary Level.

Specific responsibilities include:

1. serve as the initial contact for all graduate school counseling students;
2. develop/maintain a distribution list of graduate student members;
3. communicate to all graduate school counseling students about professional development activities of FSCA and ASCA:
4. recruit graduate students for membership into FSCA;
5. work collaboratively with the V.P. Post-Secondary and other graduate liaisons to represent and respond to the needs, issues, and interests of all graduate students;
6. represent FSCA at the Annual FSCA Convention and host graduate student events; and
7. contribute to reports submitted from the V.P. Postsecondary level.

Individual(s) filling this position are held to the same code of conduct that all Board of Director positions abide by, as outlined in FSCA Governing Policies and By-Laws.

Calling All Graduate Students: Navigating the Job Search Process.

The program is designed as a panel discussion for graduate students as they near the end of their preparation program and begin the job search process. On the panel will be school administrators and counselors to discuss all facets of a job search -- letter of application, resume development, the interview and post-interview, -- and suggestions for a successful first few weeks in a position as a new school counselor.

The program is scheduled for Saturday morning, November 5, 10:15-11:30 am, at FSCA (Hyatt Regency Pier 66 in Ft. Lauderdale).
