FSCA Senior Scholarship

 The Florida School Counselor Association awards a $500 scholarship to any high school senior for the assistance of a post-secondary education.

 Eligibility

*      Must be a high school senior attending a public or private secondary school in Florida

*      Must be a permanent resident of Florida

*      Must attend a post-secondary education during the 2006-2007 school year

The FSCA Senior Scholarship application includes 3 items only

*      Entry form (see below)

*      Essay

*      Stamped, self addressed envelope

Application Procedure

*      Write up to a 500-word essay that describes how a school counselor or school-counseling program assisted you to plan/decide/resolve/grow in an area of your life.

*      Essay must be typed in New Times Roman font, size 12

*      Essay must be single-spaced on 8 ½ x 11 paper. 

*      Essay is limited to 1 page (page can be double sided)

*      Do not put your name or the name of your school on the essay.

Things to remember when sending in the application

*      Enclose 4 copies of your essay

*      Include 1 stamped self-addressed envelope

*      Include the completed entry form

*Incomplete applications will not be considered

Florida School Counseling Association Grant Program for School Counselors

The Florida School Counseling Association strives to promote excellence in the profession of school counseling. To achieve this goal we have established a grant program for school counselors. The funds allocated are designed to assist school counselors in their various creative school based projects.

Criteria for the grant are as follows: (click here for a MS Word doc)

  • Must be a current member of FSCA
  • Must complete application packet plus 4 copies by April 22nd
  • Maximum allocation of funds requested is $500
  • Must include letter of support from principal
  • Program must benefit student learning, growth or development within your school
  • Check will be allocated to the school

Application Packet Cover Sheet Information:

  • Project Title
  • Project Total Budget (not to exceed $500)
  • School Level: Elementary, Middle, High, or Other
  • Approximate student population that will benefit from the project
  • Time frame project will run
  • Name of Counselor
  • School
  • Complete School Address
  • Complete Home Address
  • School phone number/Home phone number
  • Email address
  • Number of Years as a school counselor
  • Year of FSCA membership

Project Proposal:

  • Describe clearly the purpose of your project
  • List the objectives of project
  • Describe the project activities and population it will serve
  • Budget

Application packets must not exceed 5 pages including cover sheet. Principal’s support letter is an attachment to the 5 pages.
