The Opening Session of the 20th Annual NAPP Conference on Friday, November 10, 2006, 5:15-6:30 p.m., will feature a performance by Off the Curb. This is a youth outreach program based in Newport, R.I. For the past 14 years, they have dedicated themselves to building confidence and self-esteem in youth through the power of dance. They use hip hop dance as an alternative to the use of drugs and violence. See http://www.offthecurb.com/.
 
 
The conference is designed for peer program professionals interested in programs that expand the culture of people helping people through mentoring, tutoring, hotlines, peer ministry, service learning, conflict resolution and other related interventions. You can access the most recent peer helper books and resource materials at the conference bookstore  Attendees will be able to network with other peer professionals working in the peer helping field.
